IMPACT OF BIO-COMPETITIVE EXCLUSION ON NITRATE-REDUCING BACTERIA IN OIL RESERVOIR WATER TREATMENT

چکیده

In the presence of nitrogen oxides, nitrate-reducing bacteria (NRB) may use nitrate as an electron acceptor, reduce to nitrite, and finally convert nitrite or ammonium (NO N2O). Studies have shown that BCX (Bio-Competitive Exclusion) is a viable , ecologically benign, low-cost technique for regulating NRB in its first phases study application. More precisely, Pseudomonas sp. isolate from oil-field wastewater using 16S rDNA sequencing selection (NRB). Including NO3 NO2 bio-activators has helped researchers get deeper understanding processes govern activation. The potential molybdate inhibit Sulfate-Reducing Bacteria (SRB) was also investigated. results showed more effective than NO3. effect greatest at 1:4 ratio NO2. activation synergized with low molybdic acid solution concentrations (5%). Static corrosion model experiments demonstrated importance SRB corroding process. Biological inhibitors were lowest rates, proving their effectiveness. Scanning microscopy used examine corroded steel sheet's surface morphology. In addition, there almost no pitting on sheet.

Anaerobic degradation of oil hydrocarbons by sulfate-reducing and nitrate-reducing bacteria

Crude oil is a complex mixture mainly composed of various saturated and aromatic hydrocarbons. Whereas degradation of hydrocarbons by oxygen-respiring microorganisms has been known for nearly one century, utilization of hydrocarbons under anoxic conditions has been investigated only during the past ten years. The present paper summarizes investigations into the anaerobic degradability of crude ...

The effects of essential oil, povidone-iodine, and chlorhexidine mouthwash on salivary nitrate/nitrite and nitrate-reducing bacteria.

Dietary nitrate is reduced to nitrite and nitric oxide by microbial flora, and this activity is beneficial to vascular health. It has been reported that this bacterial process is inhibited by chlorhexidine mouthwash, although the effects of other products are largely unknown. This study examined the effects of several treatments on salivary nitrate/nitrite and nitrate-reducing bacteria. Twelve ...

Nitrate and Nitrite: Sources, Impact on Human Health and Reduction of Nitrate Accumulation in Agricultural Products Using Bio-fertilizers

Nitrate with the chemical formula NO3- is one of the forms of nitrogen in the environment that plays an important role in the nitrogen cycle. Vegetables, water and meat are important sources of nitrate. Nitrate is made in the body through the arginine-NO pathway and enters the body through various sources. Oral nitrate is converted to nitrite (NO2-) by bacteria when it enters the mouth, and nit...

Diversity of Metabolically Active Bacteria in Water-Flooded High-Temperature Heavy Oil Reservoir

The goal of this work was to study the overall genomic diversity of microorganisms of the Dagang high-temperature oilfield (PRC) and to characterize the metabolically active fraction of these populations. At this water-flooded oilfield, the microbial community of formation water from the near-bottom zone of an injection well where the most active microbial processes of oil degradation occur was...
